Crouse-Hinds series XJGD combination expansion/deflection couplings are used with rigid metal conduit and IMC to couple together two sections of conduit subject to movement due to thermal expansion and contraction. They are installed indoors or outdoors in long conduit runs to permit linear and axial movement and to accommodate angular and parallel misalignment. XJGDs maintain electrical continuity without the need for an external bonding jumper and clamps. XJGDs for rigid/IMC come standard with a hot dip galvanized finish for trade sizes 1-1/4""" and above for added corrosion protection against harsh environmental factors.

Indoor/Outdoor and Wet Location Applications
  • XJGD rigid/IMC expansion couplings provide flexible, watertight connections that protect rigid and IMC conduit wiring systems from damage caused by expansion and contraction up to 4 in and angular and parallel misalignment
  • Maintains a ground connection without the need for an external bonding jumper and clamps
  • Prevents conduit from buckling and causing circuit failures in long conduit runs
  • Can be used indoors or outdoors where conduit expansion occurs and there are wide temperature swings
  • Prevents damage to conduit supports such as in a building or ON a bridge ON conduit runs
  • 4 in maximum conduit movement
  • Electro-galvanized Feraloy® iron alloy body hub, gland nut, washer and bushing
  • PTFE composite packing
  • Vellum gasket
  • Electro-galvanized phosphor bronze ground spring
  • Braided tinned copper ground strap
