Crouse-Hinds series XJGD combination expansion/deflection couplings are used with rigid metal conduit and IMC to couple together two sections of conduit subject to movement due to thermal expansion and contraction. They are installed indoors or outdoors in long conduit runs to permit linear and axial movement and to accommodate angular and parallel misalignment. XJGDs maintain electrical continuity without the need for an external bonding jumper and clamps.

- Item Features
- Standards
Commercial, Institutional Buildings, Structures Commercial and Other Applications
- Weatherproof and approved for use indoors or outdoors without an external bonding jumper
- Flexible, watertight connection that protect rigid and IMC conduit wiring system from damage caused by movement
- Internal bonding springs and metallic bushings create high integrity internal ground connection and eliminate need for external bonding jumpers and clamps
- Patented design
- Molded plastic natural (brown) XD inner sleeve
- Feraloy iron alloy electro-galvanized and aluminum paint reducer, gland nut and bushing
- PTFE composite packing, steel electro-galvanized washer, vellum gasket
- Phosphor bronze electrogalvanized ground springs, braided tinned copper ground strap, malleable iron electrogalvanized U-bolts
- To couple together two (2) sections of conduit subject to longitude movement
- To accommodate axial expansion, angular misalignment and parallel misalignment, in conduit run that cross structural joints
- Indoors/outdoors in long conduit run to permit linear and axial movement caused by thermal expansion and contraction, XD component includes stainless steel jacket clamps for strength and corrosion-resistance
- On long conduit run to prevent conduit from buckling and ensuing circuit failures
- Angular misalignment of the axes of the coupled conduit run in any direction to 30 deg
- NPT threads fit standard rigid conduit, parallel misalignment of the axes of coupled conduit run in any direction to 3/4 in
