The RT100 U style drill is a 2 flute, high penetration rate carbide drill designed to decrease cycle times and increase part quality. The point and flute geometry where developed to create a short, manageable chip form that can be easily evacuated from the hole. The RT100 U style drill has a self-centering point design that eliminates the need for preliminary spot drill operations. The wide-open flute design and short chip formation ability eliminates the need for peck drilling. The RT100 U drill can operate 3 to 5 times the penetration rate in inches per minute of a general purpose carbide drill thus reducing cycle time and decreasing manufacturing costs.
